Delta-10 THC vs. Delta-8 THC

What Is Delta-10 THC?

Delta-10 is likely one of the least common strains of THC, but it is gaining popularity, especially in states that do not allow medical marijuana use.

This particular compound makes up a small percentage of the cannabis plant, but unlike the Delta-9 strains, which is the most common and widely known compound that creates the psychedelic high, Delta-10 is less potent.

Since there are trace amounts found in the plant, Delta-10 is often derived from CBD. The hemp strain, a cannabis plant that does not produce Delta-9 THC, produces the largest amount of CBD and is legal in all 50 states.

In turn, Delta-10 is legal in most states as well. However, some states are outlawing Delta-10 separately.

What Is Delta-8 THC?

Delta-8 is a little more potent than Delta-10. However, not near as potent as the regular Delta-9 THC. Much like with Delta-9, it still produces a euphoric high, but it is not nearly as potent.

Delta-8 is also derived from the hemp plant, and since there is such little amount of the compound found in cannabis, it is often artificially made from CBD, using a process called isolate.

Delta-10 THC vs. Delta-8 THC: What’s the Difference?

Delta-8 is known to be the more potent of the two, as it reacts with our bodies better than Delta-10. However, both strains still produce a slight high and psychedelic feeling. Because Delta-10 and Delta-8 are less potent, it is said that they have fewer side effects than their fellow Delta-9 compound.

There is little research on Delta-10, but studies suggest that Delta-8 can relieve pain, stimulate appetite, and act as an anti-inflammatory. Some experts also say that it can ease anxiety and help against depression. However, large amounts of Delta-8 can cause anxiety, fear, and paranoia, similar to Delta-9.

Overall, due to its chemical makeup and how both strains interact with our body, Delta-8 is a better product when attempting to treat symptoms such as pain and inflammation. In addition, it seems that, when taken in small doses, it can relieve anxiety and act as a mood enhancement.

However, research on both strains is limited due to the restrictions and stigma involved with cannabis as a whole.

Due to the lack of research, it is always best to speak to your doctor before you take cannabis in any capacity, especially in combination with other prescribed medications. However, even the limited research shows that there are some promising health benefits in both strains.

Now that you know the difference between Delta-10 THC vs. Delta-8 THC, you can make a better decision when consuming cannabis.
